China's three-wheeled cargo tricycle are becoming popular across Europe and Africa, with foreigners converting them into coffee carts, sightseeing tricycles, and more, showing an expanding range of uses. On August 27, news reported that Chinese electric tricycles continue to be hot in the European market, with overseas users transforming them into coffee carts, sightseeing vehicles, mobile stores, and various other purposes. In Spain, some people use electric tricycles for passenger services, charging 30 euros per hour, about 236 yuan, which is roughly the same as high-end local ride-hailing service fees. Previous data shows that tricycles sold domestically for around 2,000–5,000 yuan can sell for 3,000–6,000 USD in Europe and the U.S., and high-end sightseeing versions in Europe can even reach 20,000 euros, with markups generally 2–8 times. Chinese electric tricycles are evolving from a simple freight tool to a versatile lifestyle vehicle, and overseas applications continue to expand. Africa has a population of 1.4 billion and is still growing, with urbanization increasing by 3% annually. Due to insufficient public transportation and strong demand for short-distance passenger and city freight services, Africans are very fond of tricycles. The main reason is that the poor road conditions make it hard for large vehicles to pass, while tricycles are flexible and practical.
